Many people are always on the go and need certain computer files with them for school, business, personal etc. There are many online services and portable media devices you can use for this. A portable media device is something that you can take with you and you can put media on to it. Many people have heard of and/or have bought something called a thumb drive where they can put files onto and have them when they travel. These devices are really popular with businesses and schools. The thumb drives come in all different looks, shapes and memory capacity. They did start to make portable HD (Hard Drive) which does the same thing as a thumb drive just on a bigger scale. You can also use any mp3 player, ipod, zune, etc. to transfer files from one PC to another. You can transfer files like word documents to the hard drive on your portable music device and put it on another PC. In a upcoming video I will show how easy it’s to do that. There are also great alternatives if you do not have a portable media device or can’t afford a portable media device. An alternative is placing your files onto a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server and accessing them like that or go to a file hosting service. Xdrive offers 5 gigabyte of free online file storage with a set of tools to transfer files. In the future I will be looking into setting up a public FTP server for my website guests or show viewers to use and setup accounts.

January 7, 2008Vantec Spectrum PCI Fan Card
January 4, 2008I just received a Vantec Spectrum PCI Fan Card today in the mail that I ordered from http://www.tigerdirect.com. This card has 2 ball-bearing fans and LED lights. The card was very to install if you do not have wires around the place where you want to install it. You will need an open power port in order for the Fan to run because it does not run off the power from the PCI slot. The card also lets you adjust the fan speed. This card should be mounted under the video card but if you can’t any slot will be good. Below are the specifications of the PCI fan. Specifications: Dimensions 195×92x20mm, Fan size: 70×70x15mm, Voltage: 7-12v, Power: 9w, Speed: 2400-4000 RPM, Airflow: 17.73-29.54 CFM, Noise 25-36.64 dBA, Ball Bearing with 50,000 hrs of life. I purchased this product for about $20 and I have seen a big difference in my PC temperatures. I use a program called speed fan to monitor my PC temps and I will be getting a more accurate program.I will rate this card a 4 out of 5 because it’s a nice card, adjustable speed and led however the installation for me took some time because my PC has a lot of wires where I needed to mount the card and I ended up not being able to mount the card there anyway.
Kodak M853
December 30, 2007I just purchased this Kodak M853 digital camera. This has 8.2 megapixles, HD still capture, ISO up to 1250, 3x optical zoom, Li-ion rechargeable batteriesm 2.5 lcd screen, records video with sound, many diffrent shooting scenes and 3 color modes and comes with perfect touch technology. This camera came only in silver and was very compact then some of the other cameras that were on displayed. This product came with kodak software allowing you to edit your picture and keep them organize. This product is very easy to use and all you need to do is point and shoot with this camera. The part I like about the camera is how nice and compact it is and that it came with a camera case to protect the camera. Another thing I like is the software that came with the camera to keep my photos organized. I would rate this product 5 stars out of 5 stars for the look, price and the ease of use.
